What if you could enjoy life as a creative journey – the type of journey where everything is magical and becomes easier and easier as you go along? It would be the grandest of all adventures! Join Cynthia Morris, a local author, artist, and life coach, on a transformative journey to explore and map out the territory of your inner self. This class was born out of Cynthia’s reflection on how visual journaling literally made her an artist.
Her early journals were about keeping a sketchbook and jotting down notes. When she re-visited them, though, she found them full of hidden insights about herself and immediately realized the value of journaling as a means of personal discovery. In her words, “journals reflect you back to you”. She also realized that she’d followed a similar process in each book, which was key to her ability to delve deeper into self. She’ll show you how to use this process to travel magically and capture your experiences in a meaningful way. T
I am excited to teach this new class at Two Hands Paperie. Magical Journey, Magical Journal is a unique travel and creativity class that has allowed me to look at what I really believe about magic and travel and creativity.
I’ve had so many experiences that show me that the world is a magical place and that keeping an illustrated journal highlights that. I can’t wait to share this.
The class sold out right away and there’s a big waiting list, so I suspect this is something others are craving too, this connection to magic. Would this be a class you would want to take from me online?

Paris, how do I love thee, let me count the ways…
There are so many things to love about Paris, but I’ve chosen a few of the civic niceties that make the streets of Paris pleasant for me. More to come in this vein. Vive Paris!

Work in Progress Board in the Studio
One day last week I woke up and realized that I needed to put my Journey Blessings on my work in progress board to see them all. It makes me happy to see them here and I have about 30 more to make. Pure joy and play!
Today's Journey Blessing: Your luggage goes with you.
I travel a lot and have used this blessing to make sure that my luggage always arrives with me. So far it’s worked, and I’ve never had lost luggage. Sending prayers of gratitude to the travel gods!

Buff Up Your Creativity: Ten Creative Capabilities Enhanced by Travel

I gave this article to my Curious Boulder participants to remind them that travel itself is a creativity workshop. Formerly published in 2009 here, I offer these perspectives to you again, so your summer travel may incite your creative juju.
Creativity is a combination of skills, qualities and perspectives that allows someone to bring ideas into form. Identifying and cultivating those capabilities allows you to be more effective in life and work.
It’sno surprise that the rigors of travel build our creative capacity. Both
endeavors push us to our physical, mental and sometimes emotional limits.
Travel and creativity aren’t for pansies.
After a year as a creative nomad in Europe, and from observing the changes I see in my Curious Excursions participants. I have charted ten ways that travel sparks our creativity. Check out the following ten creative capabilities to see how travel has contributed to yours.

Travel Like An Artist and Enhance Your Trips

This week I featured Elizabeth Briel , an artist who also travels a lot. I asked her how travel affects her art, and after she answered, I thought about how traveling as an artist is different than traveling for work or tourism.
Whatever your purpose for travel, you can borrow from artists to enhance your experience.
Artists will often take time while traveling to reflect on their experiences, rather than rushing from one thing to another. Take time after a museum visit or a shopping or exploring spree to reflect on your experience.
What did you notice or see that surprised you? What do you want to remember? Sketch or take notes of the inspiration you’ve gathered.
This is where your travel journal is your great companion. Bring an easy-to-carry journal with you and spend time with it. I’ve shared ideas on how to make time for your journal while traveling elsewhere.
Here are ten additional ways to tap into a place and experience it as a traveling artist does.
