    Holding that yoga pose over an hour! Oh Wow! Congratulations! My body was hurting just watching you.
    My question, do you do all the filming from a tripod or do you have someone film you as well for some parts? 🙂

    Great show once again! It was interesting to see your video creative process. And your Yoga effort??? C’est incroyable! I have been so incredibly bad at not getting my daily yoga in, my body tells me about it every morning when I awaken. Ugh! I’m going to have to give in and begin following some form of daily (gag word to follow:) routine! Keeping at my writing schedule and getting daily exercise in before I commence with the social interaction part of my day – I see no other way.
    Thanks for a great show… thanks for your great insight with MWHH.

    Thanks, everyone! It’s so great to know that the show is energizing for you. We all have those fears – how will my stories be of use to others? – so I’m happy to see that sharing my process is useful for you.
    Yes, the marathon yoga pose is a head shaker. Like, I can’t believe it. An act of will, endurance and perhaps, stupidity.
    @Dora, I wish I had a cinematographer! I can see how having different shots would be useful. But it’s just me. Scripting, filming, starring, editing, producing, promoting. Yep. The tripod works wonders!
    @Michael, please go to yoga. Please let your body have the great feeling of being stretched and strengthened. I love it and can’t live without it.
    I never expected yoga to be such a part of the show! I did want to use it to illustrate creative concepts, because just looking at my face talking isn’t always interesting.
    Thanks for all your support!

    The horse is one heck of a stance to do right, let alone keep up. That was amazing, Cynthia.
    And what a great case of synchronicity!
    I just did a feat of my own:I learned how to tango, on roller skates, in 6 months time, in front of 1200 people.
    Why? Because I caught myself saying I couldn’t.
    It’s just the most amazing feeling being able to prove yourself wrong about what you ‘know’ you cannot do.
    Love,
    Karl

    Great video, Cynthia!
    Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly answer my question on how you got started on video. I am in somewhere between stage two, fear and stage four experiment (while skipping stage three – commit!) I have been using my video camera to tape myself doing my encaustic videos, but I haven’t even uploaded them yet. I just want to get used to the camera, and see what I can do.
    I don’t have a Mac, so my video editing will be more difficult. But I am still inspired to do this! Now that the college semester is ending, I am going to be able to commit more to my art, which is very exciting.
    My extraordinary feat? Winning two major art awards/scholarships at my college – San Diego State University. One of my encaustic paintings were purchased by the SDSU Extended Studies building for $1,000 and will be on permanent display there. I also won the SDSU art council scholarship for $500 which includes a group show with the 4 other recipients at the Athenaeum Music and Art Library. What makes them extraordinary is my getting over the fear of applying for these things and actually making the deadlines for submitting! I am very prone to procrastinating, so this is an extraordinary feat for me.
    Cannot wait to see next weeks video!
    Jaime

    Another fun show, Cynthia. And I’m inspired from your comments to take up the needle and thread again. I haven’t been embroidering for such a long time, though I think about it everyday. Why not, I ask myself? It’s fun. I like it. It generally turns out well. Go get the stuff OUT of the closet (Step 1) and PUT it by the chair (Step 2), then SEW (Step 3). It’s just that easy…thanks to you!!
    So…thank you!

    Wow! That yoga pose looked hard at five minutes, but at over an hour….are you sure you aren’t a super hero?? What would my extraordinary feat be??? Perhaps just to give to myself what I so freely give to others…..

    @Karl,
    It is a difficult pose! I had very bad form for most of the time, I will tell you. Your video is amazing! SO SO cool to see you out there skating like a pro. Well done, superhero!
    @Jaime,
    Congratulations on those extraordinary art feats!! I am thrilled for you. That’s some serious juju. And work.
    Good for you for doing the emotional labor of overcoming the fear and submitting your applications for them.
    Now you know it’s totally worth it to do so. You have proof that going for it pays off! Literally!
    Okay, you can probably guess that Step 3 – Commit – is a pretty key one. So when will you post your first video?
    I know you’re in school and it may be end-of-semester crunch time, so it may be after that.
    Wanna choose a date and have me hold you accountable? I’ll do it. I will. I want to see your film.
    And I don’t believe it will be harder to edit on a PC. People have to be doing it. Just google it.
    @Anne,
    YEA! You enjoy that. Don’t make anything up about it – just play with sewing. See how it feels. Let yourself love what you love.
    @Susan,
    You know, later than night while I was still in happy shock, I had this thought:
    “Maybe I am extraordinary.”
    Even though I believe that we’re all extraordinary in our own style, it’s still a stretch to fully believe it.
    I’m trusting that the lesson that I can surpass my perceived limitations is etched in my body after 70 minutes. That whenever I doubt my ability to do something, all I need to do is drop into horse pose.
    I challenge you to practice giving to yourself. Make a list of ten simple ways you can give freely to yourself and then practice them. If not you, who? If not now, when?
    Thanks very much for watching my show and commenting!
