Creative Accountability Monday

Happy Monday, Creative Dynamos!
Let’s start the week off right, shall we? With a bit of support for our creative challenges, because we’re in this together!
5Share in a comment below ONE thing you will do this week in your creative realm. Something that you need a nudge for. Something a bit daunting.
Whether you’re a photographer, painter, sculptor, writer…any kind of artist. I’ll help hold you accountable this week to doing something you really want to do.
For my part, I am committed to return to making regular videos. I want to do this, yet it keeps getting pushed to the back burner. I commit to making and posting a video by this Friday. There. I said it, publicly. GULP!
What one thing will you do? And when you do it, will you return here to add another comment and perhaps a link?

I will create some new art. I am so busy working on creating a new artist website and getting art ready for 2 shows that somehow my creativity got pushed back, I will create 2 new pieces this week!

      Elizabeth,
Two new pieces! That sounds wonderful. Your comment speaks to the challenge we all have – facing inward to the studio, facing outward to bring our work to the world. A never-ending balancing act.
You’re doing great at it, BTW.
      Have fun in the studio!

Oh – that is just the nudge I need ! I will join you in video making. I need to make one as part of my preparations for Surtex. Will I have it done by Friday ? Maybe not as I have lots of other things that also need attention this week. But I will have my outline of what I want it to look like , artwork gathered together and some short “out and about” snippets filmed.
Wave to you from springlike Scotland 🙂

      Rhiannon,
Your comment is a perfect description of the true nature of creating – lots of little pieces in the whole.
We do ourselves a disservice when we lump the whole thing together. Breaking it into pieces like you did is so wise. I love it.
Enjoy it! You may surprise yourself by how much you get done, once you plunge in.
Waving back to sunny Edinburgh! (You can tell I am an optimist!)

Nice, Brook! I know you’ll enjoy it, too. I love that you’ll post it on your blog. If you can, swing back by to let us know you did it and share a link.
      Happy writing!

I want to take most of the week off! I think that’s an essential element to creative and scary!

I have been doing no photography or blogging since I got back from Israel on March 5th. Instead I felt the urge to purge – another pass through the house decluttering. And I’m tackling the garage that’s filled with my parents’ own handmade artwork and family furniture heirlooms. (painful) It’s early spring in LA (in the 90’s by the end of the week!) and I just need to do this.
My goal will be to do one little photo blog post for sure, maybe write a teeny tiny writing post and casually surf photo sites to get back in the mood. The first quarter of this year has been intense and wonderful with the tech prep for my trip to Israel and the trip itself and my ‘graceful return’, but I must be planting seeds for something new because I’m in an empty creative space right now.

Okay Bobbi, we’ll hold you to one little photo blog post. That’s it. If you do that, savor the satisfaction of getting something out into the world.
Glad you are purging. Making space. Opening up. Being free. I love it. I love how you trust yourself and your process.
      Keep loving life and yourself!

"For years, I struggled with this belief that I wasn't good enough, that I wasn't a real writer, that I wouldn't be able to follow through. Your coaching and support opened something in me that had gone dormant.

With your words in my ears and my heart finding new excitement, I pushed the words across the page. My first novel is complete. You, dear Cynthia, helped me lay the dominoes. I can’t thank you enough for the motivation, the inspiration, and the reminder that I was meant to write."

Cynthia is intuitive, down-to-earth, straightforward and honest. She can read between the lines, and she never lets me run away, give in and give up. Cynthia is a fabulous mentor and an amazing artist."
