major writing goal,
WRITE YOUR BOOK is for you.
~~ Let's write it together ~~
A live 9-week group facilitated by a certified coach and published author with over 24 years of writing & coaching experience.
with Certified Coach Cynthia Morris
February 7 - April 8, 2022
This program is perfect for:
Who have a hard time dedicating time to their own passion projects.
Who want to bring their ideas and vision into a book.
Who need to write but feel too pressured to produce. (Also recovering academics!)
Who want to get their message into a form more people can access.
you are an author waiting to come to life
You have an unfinished non-fiction or memoir or novel idea you are hoarding.
Dang it! You just haven't been able to finish - or start - that book that's dear to your heart. You’re tired of carrying the mental load of this “someday” project.
You can no longer tolerate the pain of not doing it.
This book just has to be finished. You think about it all the time but can't seem to get to it. You hear yourself say "I never finish things!"
You know you need accountability.
You want the connection, accountability, and support a community brings. You don't need another class with lessons to get behind on. You need kind, rigorous support to stay on track.
Ready to get writing?
If you hear yourself saying these things, let's get going:
“This book must be written.”
“I need to get this out of my head and into the world.”
“I have tried other things and still I avoid the book.”
“I have wanted to write a book my whole life.”
How is this coaching group different than a class?
1) I am live in the writing group with you. This is not a program with pre-recorded videos and handouts. You will not get lost in the masses or ignored.
2) The work is writing your book. We will use chapters from my book as lessons to make significant progress on the big idea of our books as well as the nitty gritty of writing it.
3) After the first four weeks of setting yourself up with an outline and focus, we will write together. The content is customized to the group’s members. I will respond to the members' needs as they arise, which is the next best thing to 1:1 coaching. In weeks five through eight, there are suggested readings to support you as you go.
4) This is not a craft workshop with critique. You will spend your time writing your book, not giving feedback on others' writing.
5) I will read your homework in the first four weeks of the program - your 'why', your desired reader, your outline, and chapter template - and give feedback on those. This will help you feel you are on the right track and ready to draft your manuscript.
This is what you will accomplish with us:
Clarify which book to write now
Identify your reader so writing flows more easily and authentically
Organize your content, deciding what stays and what can be used elsewhere
Get into your writing groove so you can write your book even in the busiest schedule
Gain confidence that this is the right book for you, your reader and the world.
Give yourself the gift of focus and support to finally gain momentum on your passion project.
Here's what we'll do:
This is not a craft workshop with a lot of lessons. This is a working sanctuary where we will get writing done.
In the first four weeks, we will get our material and writing systems sorted out. You will meet milestones each week that will give you the momentum you've been craving.
Our next five weeks will be devoted to writing, writing, writing. Or, drafting, because we want to get a shaggy draft out of you.
At the end of the eight weeks together, you will have clarity on what is in your book PLUS have gotten traction on writing it.
You'll finish the group in triumph, knowing how to keep going. Oh, how sweet it will be to finally fall in love with your book and not just dream about the idea of it.
Here's who you can be after our time together:
You break through your blocks and finally write the book that’s been simmering in your head (and on your hard drive) for years.
You feel empowered by your ideas instead of dragged down by the thought of your book.
You thrive with the kind of support that actually helps you move past excuses.
You know how to get past the old fears and doubts to write this book and all your writing projects.
Write Your Book with Certified Coach Cynthia Morris
February 7 - April 8, 2022
Here's how you will write your book with us
Eight group meetings
We meet live online on Mondays to fire up the week in just the right way. You will discuss the week's focus, get live coaching and connect. Our video conferences focus on you and provide live coaching.
The sessions will be recorded for those who cannot attend live. You will maximize your experience by showing up for the live sessions. We will have a week 'off' from meeting on March 28.
We check in every Friday in our private online writing salon. This keeps you on track every week. This is a curated group with limited enrollment, so there is nowhere to hide. Finally! Real support to keep you on track.
You'll get coaching from Cynthia every time you check in. You post these anytime on Friday before the end of the day. You can do written, audio or video check-ins according to your preference.
These check-ins are the accountability you crave and we take them seriously. They're a progress report for you to make sure you stay on track. If you do not check in weekly, you will be asked to leave the group without refund. This isn't another class you sign up for and hope for results just because you paid some cashola.
Weekly Writing Jams
We gather online on Thursdays at 10:00 am ET for an hour to write, write, write. You can use topics from your book to get a solid 45 minutes of writing in each week. We do not share this writing. Other members of Cynthia's writing community are in this weekly writing joyfest.
These are optional but a great way to connect with writers and get a solid chunk of writing done.
Our 2022 Dates
Mark your calendars for these Mondays:
- February 7, 14, 21, 28
- March 7, 14, 21 (no meeting March 28)
- April 4
Our meetings are at 11:00 a.m. PST, 12:00 p.m. MST, 1:00 p.m. Central, 2:00 p.m. EST, 7:00 p.m. UK, 8:00 pm in France.
These 75-minute sessions connect you with your coach and your community of writers.
You are free to telephone in instead of using the computer.
If you cannot make a session, don't worry, they are all recorded and available to you.
With decades of writing and teaching experience, I know how to share my best resources as you need them.
We will use content from my book, The Busy Woman's Guide to Writing a World-Changing Book to support our focus. You will get a copy of this to use during and after the program.
Members love how I am able to reach into my own archives and also connect with additional, on-point resources to meet you where you are and take you where you want to go.
Private Online Classroom
The private online classroom is available 24/7. This is your space to connect with other writers (or not, depending on your needs).
Here you will submit your weekly homework which will keep you on track with making real progress on your book.
It is NOT a private Facebook group with clutter, ads, and distractions. It’s a safe, focused place to get and keep your writing focus.
You get all of this and so much more…this is a transformative experience with benefits that extend far beyond writing.
You will LOVE this coaching group because:
There's finally nothing in your way.
You can feel the integrity and power that comes from doing what you say you want to do.
You will not 'fall behind' with too many lessons to consume. Your time will be spent working on your book.
You will love that someone doesn't let you get away with shrinking, playing small or resting in the comfort zone of all your old excuses.
When you focus on your book, you can finally get over the BS that has jammed you up until now.
You will be in the hands of someone who knows how to help you.
Inside our writing salon, you’ll receive coaching from me, Cynthia Morris, a certified coach and published author who has helped thousands of people free their inner writer. This is my life's work and I love helping people in this way.
When I say, “I get you,” I mean it. I understand writers, artists, and other creatives. We like to think that writing a book is just a matter of sitting down and putting ink on a page. But a book that truly means the world to you also challenges you in ways you haven’t been able to deal with on your own.
I have heard it all when it comes to what blocks us and motivates us. As a trained coach, I guide you in a way that gets results, while honoring your way.
Inside the safe space of our writing salon, we will address the issues that come up, helping you get past writer’s block once and for all. No muscling through, no hiding in the corner. I am trained in how to help you move beyond the emotions and fears that have kept you stuck for too long.
Because of the high level of support and accountability, enrollment in Write Your Book is limited. Don't postpone your writing joy!
You will have the option throughout the program to add discounted one:one coaching or constructive feedback sessions with your coach.
The rules of our writing salon are simple:
Everyone is welcome.
You and your process will be respected. Ghosting, hiding, not showing up are not okay.
You are expected to treat others with kindness and support as you wish to be treated.
Everyone must commit to and stay with one book.
You agree to be coachable, willing to overcome old obstacles that prevent you from being a writer.
Empathy, kindness and rigor are to be expected.
