Mark Silver Brings Heart to Business at WDS

Sufi business consultant? This kind of multi-faceted person is just the person you’d expect to meet at the World Domination Summit.

Mark Silver of Heart of Business was grounded in compassion, totally wise and smart. I went in hoping he’d blow my heart open. But that didn’t happen. Mark’s style isn’t lightning. It’s more like a deep rumble that once you hear it coming, you can’t deny its impact in your life.

Listen as I share a bit more about my experience with Mark. What do you think? How does this inspire more heart in your work?

  • Hi Cynthia! It just occurred to me (don’t ask,) that you don’t actually know how much I’ve enjoyed reading your WDS series. Particularly since you’re providing your recaps in such muti-dimensional ways! After the event was over, I eagerly read an array of blog posts from those who attended, whereas I’d had a long-standing prior obligation on the east coast. Reading such a variety of perspectives about that time in Portland made it clear that the weekend was as special as it had promised to be when Chris first announced his plan. Then I was done reading, and a little sad the posts had come to an end. Or so it seemed…

Thanks for continuing to share your experiences with us! Yours is a “little” gift that keeps on giving, delivered in a lovely manner that really highlights the uniqueness of the presenters.

Now, more specific to this piece: Your “grounded in compassion” really stood out to me; great word choice. An excellent way to be, too, no?

  • Thank you, Melody! I appreciate hearing how these posts are impacting you. I haven’t gotten a ton of feedback and when that happens you kind of assume it’s a clunker.

I’m glad I took the risk to try something new. I like adding the audio, which seems perfect for this type of piece.

I’ve got a bunch of others in the queue and need to record the audio for some. Stay tuned for more #wds juju!

And perhaps I’ll see you there next year!

  • [...] workshop, but they’re dandy.) UPDATE: The visual notes are by Cynthia Morris, who wrote about drawing them at WDS. Thanks to Melody Watson (and her extraordinary comment) for pointing it [...]

  • The realization that you might “assume it’s a clunker” is why I came back. It’s so easy to be affected by something we read online and not take the time to respond. Be sure, I am (and am confident many others are as well) staying tuned to the future editions!

And yes; it would be grand to see you there next year!

Thank you, this is very timely. Hopped over here from Communicatrix, thanks to Melody’s eagle eye spotting!
I enjoyed your audio message – haven’t come across this on a blog before. It’s lovely!

  • Melody, Thank you! I’ve been working on being a better commenter myself. When something moves me, I respond without worrying whether my comment is well-crafted or contributing. That advice has stopped me from just responding naturally.

Thanks, Jenny! We must be related somehow, sharing the same last name! Glad you like my site and hope to see you around more!
