April– June 2006
Are you ready to transform your relationship with money? Tired of making the same mistakes and living in shame over the state of your financial health? Join a group of committed people who are ready for change.
We were taught that we need to work and save our money. But perhaps you were not taught the laws of money, the ins and outs of interest rates and the pitfalls of debt. If you don’t know the rules of the game, you can’t play, let alone win.
People don’t talk about money. Our relationships with money are often fraught with shame and ignorance. Claim your financial power now, with the support of a certified coach and a group of committed people ready for change. Together we will:
- Assess your current beliefs. What limitations have you struggled under? What is true and what is false? Understanding the currents that run under your actions is key to making changes.
- Make space for Financial Empowerment. Change happens in the details. Clearing out your files and creating structures to support our new abundance will pave the way for your abundance.
- Discuss the obstacles, perceived and real, that keep you from moving forward financially. At almost every step of the way, emotions can rise up and threaten to stop us. I have found that support and accountability are key to moving forward.
- Learn the laws of money – what structures and systems you need to know to be financially secure.
While a lot can happen in a short period of time, I am not talking about a quick fix here, nor is this a get rich quick scheme. The changes you will make will impact you over the long term, and the habits you create will guide you to lasting financial empowerment. In six months, I was able to make the following changes in my financial life:
- I overcame the shame. Once I started talking with people about money, I realized that it became easier to show my mistakes, and to learn from them.
- I asked for help. By asking for help, I was able to clear two thirds of my debt in a short time.
- I learned from others. I asked my financially successful peers what worked for them. They were very willing to share their experiences, tips and strategies for financial empowerment. I understand more about how money works, and better yet, I am excited to learn more!
- I spoke up. My new motto, “Just ask” allowed me to save $264 in annual bank fees, reduce my auto insurance by 50% and reduce the interest rate on my student loan by 50% - all total saving me nearly $1,000 in one year! (You can imagine how exciting and encouraging this is!) I also changed my bank accounts so I am earning more interest than before.
- I started getting paid for my writing, getting the fees I asked for and overall feel much better about my financial situation.
It’s not a quick fix, but I have been amazed at how much has shifted for me, in six months, with focus, conversation, and action. You can do it too!

As a certified coach, I know that success is achieved with support, community, willingness to look in the shadows, and a readiness to take specific action. I’m not a financial advisor, or an investment broker. I don’t make any claims to be an expert at personal finance. I do know that with attention, persistence, and support, I made enormous strides in my financial situation. And I want that for you, too.
